In the diorama below are represented the effects of erosion on the sloping ground, due to the mechanical and chemical actions of atmospheric agents (rain, wind, snow).
On the upper shelf, there is an example of an agricultural arrangement of a fund, with crops typical of the Vesuvian area (apricots, cherry tomatoes, gardens and vineyards) and with some of the techniques designed by man to deal with the erosion phenomenon: a terrace (with retaining walls) and an eyelash, (with embankment), accommodations that have allowed since ancient times to obtain both the consolidation of the slopes and new arable land.
